A busy summer...

What with 2 jobs and commissioned pieces popping up everywhere, I think it's safe to say my summer has been pretty manic! Although I am very excited to get back to university in September and start my final year project. I already have a rough idea of what I want to do (kind of a continuation on a topic I have looked at before but would like to in more detail.) More to come.

Busy busy...

So I have been super duper busy over the last 3 weeks and so finding time to post has been a bit of a nightmare so trying to play catch up at the moment. Have been busy with my own project and a few other bits and bobs. Here are some images of experiments with enamel for my domed forms as I am still trying to find a form that works for the final neckpieces and brooches.

Neckpieces...

So I have been experimenting with composition for my test pieces and joining them together to see the result. Here are 3 neck pieces that I recently made and am quite pleased with the results but there are still a few design flaws that need addressing and changing before assessment and showtime in May!

Photoshoot

Had an amazing photoshoot with the most brilliant Carys Haf last Monday. Thought I'd share the resulting images on here with everybody.

Au Naturel...

So my current project is based around birds nest and exploring the concept of what we treasure also combining things being on shown and/or hidden. I have been experimenting with a few different nest forms and ways of hanging them etc. Here are some experimental ideas with wire and plastic coating combined with the forms. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! (Also my Grandparents have told me today that they may have a few empty nests in the garage at home that were abandoned years ago but are still in tact that I can have to study!! Excited!!!)

Also tried a bit of fold forming today (for the first time [shock horror]) what a brilliant technique to learn!

New Start...

So I have actually decided that I am going to get dedicated to this blog and start posting everyday what I'm getting up to as far as my jewellery is concerned. Or atleast every other! Had a brilliant time enamelling with the fine art students yesterday for an exhibition that's going to be in the Botanical Gardens in West Wales. Will upload images soon just my camera has decided it doesn't really want to co-operate this morning!
Another busy day of uni ahead! Work work work until Easter Break now!
