Next came a 'Transformed Body' module. Ceramics and Jewellery based outcomes and hand-building and chain making techniques. I aquired inspiration from a few ceramic sculptures exhibited in the Saatchi gallery in London in December 2011.

Took a different approach to hand building by incorporating straw into grogged clay to create a uneven surface texture when fired. The final ceramic piece was based on a anorexia and obesity.

I also created a neck-piece based on feelings of anxiety, depression and the medical condition bipolar disorder. A lot of research was required to diagnose these feelings as well as personal experience and the experiences of close friends.

A lot of work was inspirational to my piece such as: Jiang Mei-Fang

Pieces that create a "barrier" around the wearer:

and using text in the piece to directly show the feelings involved when experiencing depression and bipolar:

This research led me to develop a piece that not only created a barrier around the wearer as a way of representing the way a person would block out others during hard times but also incorporated a way of displaying the feeling of anguish and upset in a clear, bold way.
